Superphosphate is a mineral fertilizer for general use; it is formed by the decomposition of natural phosphates. Of all the macronutrients, tomatoes prefer phosphorus, as it provides strength to the bushes, increases their resistance to weather changes and adverse weather conditions. At a rate of phosphorus in the ground, tomatoes grow faster, their fruits become more tasty. And with a lack of this macronutrient, it is clear that the bushes are lagging behind in growth, and, accordingly, bear fruit worse.
General information
Phosphorus, which is in its composition, has quite a few qualities necessary for plant crops:
- With his help, plants begin to bear fruit faster;
- Macronutrient improves the taste of vegetables, fruits and berries;
- Plant aging slows down;
- It promotes the development of roots, root crops, tubers, for example, potatoes;
- It is one of the elements that plants need for nutrition.
Fertilizer composition
The main element is phosphorus. It can be 20-50%.
The main thing is that phosphorus oxide (P2O5), which is found in the fertilizer, soluble in water... This ability allows the roots of plants to receive foliar phosphorus much faster.
Types of superphosphate
Monophosphate
A grayish powder, if the ground is moist enough, then it is very difficult to notice. In him up to 20% phosphorus oxide.
The effect of it is less than that of other species, but since it costs somewhat less, it is often used by gardeners and gardeners.
Granulated
It is produced from simple superphosphate, moistened and rolled into granules with special equipment. The preparation in granules is more convenient to use. It contains 30% calcium sulfate and 50% phosphorus oxide.
Double
It contains calcium monophosphate, which is excellently soluble in water. But the whole fertilizer does not dissolve very well.
Ammoniated
In him 40—55% potassium sulfate and 12% sulfur... This species is highly soluble in water.
It is used by placing it under radish, horseradish, mustard, cabbage, which require sulfur.
Using
Double superphosphate - order of use
Double deposit in spring before landing and in autumn after harvest... That is, fertilization takes a certain amount of time for the phosphorus to mix with the soil and in the future bring maximum benefits, helping the plants grow and develop.
It is imperative that after applying fertilizer, it is required to water the soil, then the fertilizer will dissolve better and later will be better absorbed by the plants. The combination of double superphosphate with nitrogen and potassium gives a greater effect.
Top dressing of tomato seedlings
Roots of young tomato seedlings not very well absorbed simple superphosphate, therefore it is advised to use double granular.
2 weeks after the dive of young tomato seedlings, solutions containing phosphorus can be diluted. Mix 1.5 tbsp. double spoons, 2 tbsp. tablespoons of potassium sulfate and 2 tbsp. tablespoons of ammonium nitrate. Pour all these substances into a ten-liter bucket of water.
The second time is fed with a solution with double 2 weeks after the first feeding... Dissolve 0.5 tbsp. tablespoons of double superphosphate in 3 liters of pure water.
One week before landing seedlings in the ground, it is required to feed it a third time. Pour 1 tbsp into a ten-liter bucket of water. spoon of double superphosphate and 3 tbsp. tablespoons of potassium sulfate.
Top dressing of tomato bushes on the site
Phosphorus contributes intensive root development plants. Seedlings absorb superphosphate not too well, therefore feeding is done in the form of an extract or a solution.
After 2 weeks after placing the seedlings in open ground, make a fertilizer: add 500 g of manure to 2 liters of water, leave for 2-3 days. Immediately before use, pour in another 12.5 liters of water and add 25 g of double.
Such feeding has all the substances required by plants. You can do it 2-3 times a season.
Foliar feeding of tomatoes
Leaves perfectly absorb phosphorus, because of this, if you spray tomato leaves with fertilizer, the effect will be narrower in 2-3 days.
- For cooking, you need to dilute 1 tbsp. a boat of superphosphate or half a tablespoon of double superphosphate in 1 liter of hot water.
- Then you will have a solution that has a very high concentration. Leave it to infuse for a day.
- Then add another 10 liters of water.
- Spray tomato leaves with this mixture.
Fertilizer amount
In 12 kg of land, where seeds are sown, it is required to pour 45 g of double or 90 g of simple, 300 g of dolomite flour, 40 g of potassium sulfate, 30 g of carbamide. Then the resulting substrate will have all the nutrients that are required to grow strong and healthy seedlings.
In autumn, scatter on the ground over 1 m2 - 30 g double or 60 g simple, then dig up the soil, and in the spring you can plant seedlings.
What soil to use
A good effect is obtained from the use of the drug on soils with neutral or alkaline properties.
And when using it on lands with sour characteristics, there are difficulties with its assimilation by plants.
Usually, they try to make fertilizers inexpensive, that is, they take cheap and not pure raw materials for the production of superphosphate. As a result, there is no difference when using fertilizer on any type of soil other than acidic ones.
Superphosphate is required to be added to such soils, of the highest quality, according to the instructions, since otherwise it will be converted into iron and aluminum phosphates and plant roots will not absorb it.
Fertilizer superphosphate helps plants to form fruits, improves their taste, it is necessary for the growth and development of the root system and nutrition of the whole plant.
