Nitrofoska is the most popular plant food. It is a mixture (fat) of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus, vital minerals for all crops. The use of nitrophoska fertilizer improves the structure of the soil and increases the productivity of fruit and vegetable crops. Therefore, this fat is indispensable for growing tomatoes.
Composition and purpose of the drug Nitrofoska
Nitrofoska is a balanced mineral granular fertilizer. It contains nitrogen (N), potassium (K), phosphorus (P) in the form of salts with an equal share 16:16:16... These salts: ammonium nitrate, ammophos, potassium nitrate, superphosphate, ammonium chloride.
This composition is suitable for feeding all types of plants.
Nitrogen needed by plants to build up green mass. It is an essential element for the process of photosynthesis. You cannot do without it when growing seedlings of cucumbers and tomatoes.
Potassium affects the taste of berries, fruits, vegetables, tomatoes, accelerates the synthesis of sugars.
Phosphorus important for the development of strong roots, for better fruiting. In general, it starts all the metabolic processes of the plant.
In addition to the classic composition 16:16:16, there are several types of this top dressing with additives:
- Sulfuric nitrophoska... Sulfur (S) has been added to the composition. It is recommended to feed tomatoes and cucumbers, cabbage and mustard.
- Sulphated nitrophoska... Calcium (Ca) is added to its mixture, which improves color, enhances the brightness of the leaves. It is used for plants with decorative foliage.
- Phosphorite nitrophoska... It contains an increased concentration of phosphorus. It is needed primarily by vegetables to absorb fiber. Thanks to phosphorus, you can get a healthy crop with firm fruits that will keep well.
Advantages and disadvantages compared to other top dressing
Benefits:
- convenient to enrich the soil when diggingthanks to large granules;
- balanced composition of the most important elements for crops, can be used for any crop at all stages of growth;
- with proper introduction does not contribute to the accumulation of nitrates;
- economical consumption of fertilizers due to the high concentration of elements in the composition;
- the ability of nitrogen and potassium to completely dissolve in water;
- a large percentage of the decay of elements in the soil;
- easily and quickly absorbed by the roots seedlings when applied to the soil;
- can be used on any soil, namely sandy, acidic, neutral;
- the nitrogen content of potassium and phosphorus in equal proportions in each granule;
- the composition retains flowability for a long time, does not crumple.
Disadvantages:
- nitrogen in composition evaporates quickly when the package is opened;
- during the period of fruit ripening, the concentration of potassium and phosphorus in this fertilizer will not be enough for vegetables and fruit plants. It is necessary to additionally use potassium-phosphorus mixtures.
Instructions for the use of fertilizer in the open field
All plants can be fed with nitrophosphate.
According to the instructions, it can be applied to the soil dry or liquid... It can be applied at all stages of crop development. It is also recommended to introduce nitrophoska into the soil before digging in autumn and spring.
For adult shrubs, trees, dry application of nitrophoska to the soil by mixing is recommended. This should be done in the spring. The nitrogen in the mixture quickly evaporates and is washed away by groundwater during the winter. Consider the features of using top dressing for some crops.
For tomatoes
For tomatoes, it is better to use phosphoric nitrophosphate. The first top dressing is dry application to the hole when planting in open ground. Application rate - 1 tablespoon per well... Water each bush with diluted fertilizer - 5g per 1 liter of water.
The second feeding is recommended after 14 days in the same proportion. Organize the third feeding during the budding period. The application rates are the same.
Cucumbers
Recommended for cucumbers sulfuric nitrophosphate... For them, this fertilizer is required half as much as for tomatoes.
Consumption rate for one bush - 1 teaspoon dry fertilizer or 3g per liter of water... The timing of feeding is when planting seedlings in the soil, before flowering and when fruit is set on a large scale.
Potatoes
For potatoes, it is better to use phosphoric nitrophosphate when digging the soil in the fall. Consumption rate - 35g per sq. m. When adding fertilizer to the hole, the consumption rate is 5g per fossa.
Fertilizer particles must be mixed well with the ground so that they do not come into contact with potato tubers.
Strawberries and flowering plants
For strawberries, before planting seedlings, you must make 40 - 45g into each landing hole. The next top dressing is needed after the first harvest. 1 tablespoon you need to dilute in 10 liters of water and pour the strawberry bushes under the root.
For flowering and decorative leafy plants, use sulfate nitrophosphatecontaining calcium. These plants are fertilized 3-4 times per season with a ready-made solution based on 30 grams per 10 liters of water.
When adding nitrophoska to the planting hole in a dry form, it must mix well with earth... And only then immerse tubers, bulbs, cuttings with an open root system into the hole. Otherwise, there is a possibility of burning and spoiling the planting material.
Safety measures when introducing Nitroammofoska
Refers to flammable and explosive substances... Therefore, do not store or work with fertilizer near open flames.
Store the product out of the reach of children and animals, with room humidity no more than 50%... When working with the drug, wear mask, rubber gloves... After contact with fertilizer, wash all exposed areas of the body with soap and water.
If fertilizer accidentally gets into the stomach, drink water, induce vomiting and take activated charcoal. Call an ambulance immediately.
Can I use with other drugs
- compatible with ammonium sulfate, ammophos, ammonium nitrate, calcium and potassium nitrate;
- not compatible with ash and organic fertilizers, chicken droppings, manure and Bordeaux mixture.
Bordeaux mixture must never be mixed with any drugs and fertilizers. The alkaline environment of Bordeaux liquid destroys all the useful properties of the drugs.
Thus, nitroammophoska and nitrophoska are a complex fertilizer with a balanced composition. It is able to almost completely satisfy the need for vegetables, trees and flowers in obtaining the necessary elements during the growing season, flowering, fruiting. It is still the most popular top dressing for private gardeners and large farms.
